Steel Water pipes

Steel pipes are also used extensively in the conveyance of fluids, especially potable water, wastewater system, steam, cooling water ad sewage. When used in such applications, steel pipes have the following advantages:

• Spiral welded pipes withstand higher pressure than longitudinally welded pipes because the weld line and its crystallization zone are subjected to lower stresses.
• The spiral welded pipe is equivalent to seamless pipes from the standpoint of resistance to pressure.
• The "bandage effects" arising from the helical welds, give the spiral welded pipes additional force to bursting.
